She reportedly attended Georgia’s New Hampstead High School.

Quinton Simon was reported missing in the early hours of October 5, 2022.

On October 5, 2022—the day the child was reported missing—boyfriend Quinton’s mother reportedly spotted the child when he awoke that morning, according to Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley.
Jeff Hadley continued, “Mother awoke later and at 9:39 reported the child missing. “The boy’s biological father was not present when he vanished,” says the report. “The child’s mother and her lover have been working with detectives,” he said in his conclusion.
On October 6, 2022, one day after Quinton vanished, Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley declared: “We’re going to hold out hope that he’s still alive, that we can find him, and that we can return him home safe to his parents.”
On October 9, 2022, authorities in Chatham County, Georgia, declared that there was still a chance Quinton might be discovered alive.
“We appreciate everyone’s offers of assistance, but the police agency continued, “We do not require volunteers.”
The Chattam County Police Department reported that they thought the baby had died on October 12.
They stated:
“We regret to inform you that the CCPD and FBI have informed Quinton Simon’s family that we believe he has passed away. We have named his mother, Leilani Simon, as the prime suspect in his disappearance and death. But, no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.”
What Is The Police Delaying In Arresting Leilani Simon?
Legal expert Philip Holloway offered several explanations for why police would be delaying making an arrest.
“She hasn’t been detained, at least not yet, which suggests to Holloway that police are taking great care to cross all their Ts and dot all their Is.”
According to Holloway, the fact that the police haven’t discovered Quinton Simon’s body yet could be the reason why Simon hasn’t been detained.
“Even while Georgia law does not require a body to prosecute murder, he added, “they need to discover the remains if they can because it’s always preferable if they can identify a cause and manner of death.”
Police may be waiting to make an arrest until they are very certain that their case is strong, according to Holloway, who spoke to WJCL.
When they have to establish someone’s guilt, he said, “If they make mistakes today, it might really undermine the prosecution’s long-term success.”
Chief Jeff Hadley stated to the media on Thursday that Leilani Simon is not considered a flight risk. She might not have the means to travel, according to Holloway. It might also imply that measures have been made by the investigators to keep her from leaving.
“It’s possible they have maybe taken passports and things that would prevent someone’s ability to leave. They’ve got their reasons for deciding she’s not a flight risk. I don’t know what those are, but I would surmise it’s got something to do with all those factors,”
