Rufino Vigil Gonzalez is a Mexican steel magnate with a net worth of $2.4 billion. He is the President of Industrias CH, a steel production and processing company with an annual capacity of more than 5 million tons. Gonzalez owns a 64% stake in the holding company, which has numerous subsidiaries involved in the production of commercial steel and welded steel tubes.
Industrias CH Vigil began making a series of acquisitions from the very beginning, with the company merging with Grupo Ruvi, another steel producer, in 1999. In 2001, the company bought out 82.5% of Grupo Simec, a steel manufacturer with factories in Guadalajara and Mexicali. Today, the Simec assets represent 91% of ICH’s net sales.
Industrias CH has 24 steel production and processing units, with 16 of them in Mexico and the remaining eight in the United States and Canada.
