On Saturday, October 15, 2022, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Marsha Diane Potter of Portsmouth, VA, passed away at the age of 71 years.  She was born Marsha Diane Robertson to parents, Mildred Robertson and George Prayer, on September 7, 1951 in Norfolk County, Virginia.

Marsha, also affectionately known as “Diane” to friends and family, graduated from Crestwood High School in 1969 and went on to study Elementary Education at Norfolk State University.  Marsha worked as a line supervisor at Steward Sandwiches and as a Recreational Aide at the Naval Hospital. 

Marsha met her husband, the late Apostle Charles Potter, Sr. in 1970. They were married on July 8, 1973 in Portsmouth, Virginia, and together, they raised two children: the late Charles Potter, Jr. and Jason Potter. 

Marsha enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and listening to gospel music.  She always offered an encouraging word and a listening to ear to those who around her. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Apostle Charles Potter, Sr. and their oldest son, Charles Potter, Jr.  Marsha is survived by Jason Potter (Delores), three grandsons, Bryce, Charles III, and Carter Avery, her brothers, Michael Bennett, Sr. (Beverly), and Garland Bennett, as well as her beloved goddaughter, Rubi Cousins (Rashad).  Also, to honor her memory is a host brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
