Igor Altushkin is a Russian businessman with a net worth of $4.4 billion. He is the founder and largest shareholder of Russian Copper Company (RMK), the third-largest copper producer in Russia.
Altushkin graduated from the Ekaterinburg Institute of Economics in 1970. He started accumulating his net worth in the early 1990s, mainly via scrap metals trading. He served as General Director of Ekaterinburg Commerce and Industry Company (1993-2003), Aeron (1996-2003) and Uralelectromed-Vortsvetmet (1997-2003).
In 2002, Altushkin became a board member of Revdinskiy Brickyard. From 2003 to 2007, he served as a consultant to the Office of the President of Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In 2009, he united with Iskander Makhmudov to buy a controlling stake in the Chelyabinsk Zinc Factory, the largest zinc producer in Russia.
In 2004, Altushkin founded RMK, which is now the major source of his wealth.
