Eka Tjipta Widjaja: Indonesian Businessman with a $7 Billion Net Worth
Eka Tjipta Widjaja is an Indonesian businessman who founded the Sinar Mas Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Indonesia during the New Order period. He is also the owner of Bank International Indonesia, Golden Agri-Resources (one of the world’s largest palm oil plantation companies), and Asia Pulp & Paper (a paper manufacturing company). Born in 1923 in Quanzhou, Fujian, Republic of China, Widjaja has since retired, leaving the management of his company to his children and grandchildren.
