Sources are confusing Baker Mayfield arrest video with Stetson Bennett’s arrest.

Twitter is buzzing with a quarterback’s arrest video, but it’s not about Stetson Bennett. The video making the rounds is actually dash cam footage of former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback and current Los Angeles Rams player Baker Mayfield’s 2017 arrest in Arkansas.

Mayfield, a 2016 Heisman Trophy finalist, has resolved with the Fayetteville District Court with charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing, and resisting arrest on Feb 25, 2017.

The latter charge was dismissed, and on Jun 14, Mayfield reached a plea deal with the court. The details of the agreement were made public.

Baker Mayfield apologized after the arrest

The former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback and 2016 Heisman Trophy finalist, Baker Mayfield, found himself in a sticky situation when he was arrested in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Mayfield was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing, and resisting arrest. Although the last charge was dropped, the young athlete was left to pay a hefty fine of $300, $160 in court costs, and $483.20 in restitution.

According to the arrest report, Mayfield, dressed in a gray hoodie stained with soy sauce, was caught causing a stir and had to be chased down and tackled into a wall by the police.

The dashcam footage of the arrest was released on Mar 10, 2017, but Mayfield’s future in the sport still remained intact.

Oklahoma Coach Bob Stoops retired abruptly on Jun 7, but the new coach, Lincoln Riley, assured that Mayfield would only face internal disciplinary action and wouldn’t miss any playing time.

In addition to the fines, Mayfield must complete 35 hours of community service and attend a university alcohol education course.

The Oklahoma Sooners began their 2017 season on Sept 2 against the University of Texas at El Paso.
