Anansa Sims is a true trailblazer, and her achievements in the world of entertainment span a variety of fields. As well as being an accomplished plus-size model, she is also a television host, motivational speaker, designer, and actress. 

Sims rose to fame after appearing on popular shows such as The Wendy Williams Show and America’s Next Top Model in 2003. Additionally, Sims was previously married to former NFL player David Patterson. 

Beyond her own accomplishments, Anasa is the daughter of a supermodel – which only shows she has more than enough poise and grace for industry success.

Anansa Sims and David Patterson’s marriage began shortly after they first met at an Atlanta Memorial Day celebration in 2008. 

After only five dates, the couple got married two years later at the First Congregational Church in Columbus, Ohio. The pair was together for a total of seven years before deciding to amicably part ways in 2017. 

During their marriage, they welcomed three children into the world. Despite their separation, it is clear that their union created lasting memories that will continue to be cherished by the family for years to come.

Anansa filed for divorce from David on May 17, 2017, in the San Bernardino County Superior Courts’ jurisdiction after nearly seven years of marriage.

David Patterson and Anansa Sims have proven to be model co-parents after their divorce. They successfully worked together to take care of all three of their children: Benjamin (8), Ava Brielle (11), and David Bernard III (10 this past November). 

This week, Anansa and David were able to welcome a new addition to their family in health and happiness – Dean Danny Benjamin weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces upon his birth. Both are delighted with the opportunity to raise another child with love and support.

With her other boyfriend, Matt Barnes, she also shares a 4-year-old son named Ashton. David Matt, too, has two children with his ex-spouse, Gloria Govan. Sims had her first child, a daughter, Ava Brielle Patterson, with David in July 2011.

In late 2018, former NBA player Matt Barnes and model Veronica Sims announced the news of their pregnancy. 

The announcement followed only five months of their dating and did not anticipate the strong discourse that was to unfold in 2020. 

After two years of their successful relationship, Sims shared a breakup narrative with the public, which included an imposed restraining order from all sides. 

While Barnes insisted he could not visit his son, he decided to let the courts handle the disagreement away from digital outlets and social media platforms.

Sims and Barnes reconciled 

After their nasty breakup in 2019, Sims and Barnes started 2021 by announcing that they had reconciled and were dating once again. 

This came as no surprise to many people since the two had been hinting at a potential reunion through their social media posts. 

For instance, back in August 2020, Sims published several Instagram images which featured Barnes – even their son was present at the same dinner table.

It seems that since then their relationship has only been getting better, according to the photos and messages shared on both of their accounts.
